Winter and Spring Select

The Winter and Spring Select programs provide a higher level of competition than the regular Fall recreational program.  After the Fall season coaches will hold a tryout for the top ranked players in the league for the 9U - 14U age groups in order to create a more competitive team that will play against teams from neighboring cities in Area 2N and other Regions in the greater Bay Area.  This more competitive program provides players with the opportunity to develop skills to a level not always possible in the Fall recreational program.  These players (and coaches) bring their improved skills back to the Fall recreational program the following season, helping to improve the overall experience for ALL players. The Select programs require a higher level of commitment from the players, coaches, and parents. It is important to remember, however, that these programs are still guided by AYSO’s 6 Philosophies.
